Combating Holiday Stress

Congratulations!  You made it through Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday in one piece!  I don't know about you, but it always seems like this time of year just shows up without warning, and all of the sudden, I'm deep into shopping for gifts and writing out lists and planning meals and figuring out last minute holiday travel plans.  Compound that with a lot of family time (in an election year... eeek) and the pressure to have your house decorated *just so* and it's no surprise that we can often feel a bit stressed out around the holiday season.

Our Approach to Raw Material Sourcing and Testing

 Every product we produce is put through a rigorous series of tests from confirming identity and potency to screening for heavy metals, insecticides and microbes to disintegration testing to ensure the tablets break down in your system the way they are supposed to.  We do this as part of our UL NPA GMP certification, but also because it's what we believe.  We won't create a product that we wouldn't take ourselves. Our Approach to Supplement Formulation

Highland Laboratories' Director of Quality & Compliance, chemist John Mills, has been in the natural products industry for over 22 years, and oversees all of our custom and private label product formulations.  His vast experience means he instantly and intuitively knows which ingredients work well together to support a particular structure or function in the the human body.  As such, we thought it would be fun to explore John’s methodology as he embarks on a new private label formulation. As an example, let's say John is looking at creating an herbal formulation that is going to support the immune system, and he settles on an herbal material that affects that immune function in the body.  Once he’s established what that herbal material...
